One of his great grandfathers was believed to be a very spiritual person, who had the Siddhi to travel great distances in no time. Ajay was naturally bestowed with the inheritance of artistic talent and a spiritual inclination. Even in his childhood, he spent time reading mythological scriptures like the Mahabharata and the Vishnu Purana, while children his age were reading comic books and playing games. His spiritual pursuit became the focus of his life in 2001 with the start of his Gayatri Sadhana. Since then he has been discovering a whole new world of spirituality within himself.

Ajay’s first meeting with his Jyotish Guru, Pt. Sanjay Rath, unfolded into the auspicious event of Diksha (initiation) from the Revered Swami Gahananandaji, the 14th President of the Ramakrishna Order.

He is also a member of the Academic Council for syllabus preparation for Applied Arts in the University.

Ajay has a great fervor of making paintings on mythological themes. He has participated in many Art Camps and exhibited his works all over India.

Jyotish has always been a part of Ajay’s life. But it was only in 2004 that he came across SJC groups and decided to delve deeply into this Vedic knowledge. In 2005, he was initiated into the Jyotish lineage of Shri Achyuta Dasa. He has been an active participant of Atri SJC classes in New Delhi and engaged himself in the difficult task of making transcriptions of lectures given in these classes.

Ajay was one of the fortunate few, who were chosen to study Jaimini Upadesha Sutras under the careful guidance of Pt. Sanjay Rath in 2007. Since then, after the Guru Agya, he has been practicing professional Jyotish. He has a very keen interest in Puranas and Scriptures, “Devi Bhagvatam”, being the closest to his heart. He also likes to study various commentaries on “Srimad Bhagwad Gita”.
